Email us

hellobeakfeeder@gmail.com — corrections, questions and suggestions all welcome. We read everything, though we can’t always reply quickly.

What we’re glad to hear about

  • Corrections. If something on the site is wrong or out of date, please say. We’ll check it, fix it, and note the change
  • Topics you’d like covered. If you’ve searched for something about garden birds and couldn’t find a decent answer anywhere, that’s genuinely useful to know
  • Broken or outdated links. Products go out of stock and pages move
  • Questions about the site itself — how it’s funded, how content is researched, permission to quote something

What we’re not able to help with

We’d rather be upfront than leave you waiting for a reply that can’t come.

Sick, injured or orphaned birds. We can’t advise on individual animals, and a delayed email is the wrong thing to rely on when a bird needs help. Please contact:

  • England and Wales: RSPCA
  • Scotland: Scottish SPCA
  • Northern Ireland: USPCA
  • Or your nearest independent wildlife rescue centre — worth looking up now and saving the number

Many vets will also accept injured wildlife, often without charge.

We also can’t:

  • Identify birds from photographs. The identification guide and the brown bird guide cover the usual suspects, and the Merlin Bird ID app handles UK species well
  • Give veterinary or legal advice. See our terms of use
  • Accept guest posts, link exchanges or paid placements. We don’t publish sponsored content — see our editorial standards. Emails offering these won’t get a reply

Reporting a sick or dead bird

If you’ve seen signs of disease in your garden, the most useful thing you can do is report it to Garden Wildlife Health, a collaboration involving the Zoological Society of London, the BTO, the RSPB and Froglife. Their data tracks outbreaks and informs national guidance.

Our guide on sick birds at the feeder explains what to look for and what to do.
